Ode to a Pug: Not The Vet! Book Tour

MY REVIEW

When I first received my book, I took a look and smiled. My grandchild also smiled and laughed at the funny Pug! The pug’s name is Phoebe and she is usually a happy and brave dog. But, when she finds that she’s got an appointment with the vet she becomes afraid.

The writer captures a frightened dog with great detail. My own dog gets easily frightened, and makes many of the faces I see on Phoebe. Some dogs are brave until they arrive at the vet’s office.

Phoebe stalls and tries to hide, but the kind vet makes her visit so easy. The vet knows the best way to handle the pug and when it’s time for a shot Phoebe doesn’t even realize that it’s over and done.

This book is one of my favorites. The story is sweet and funny. The illustrations are just perfect for the hilarious adventures of the pug.
