My Review
A dramatic love story doesn’t usually start with the leading man almost eaten by a bear. But, with The Stained Glass Window, it works.
A soldier who has become a disabled veteran has fallen, after climbing without a safety backup. Clayton Briggs is seriously injured and is alone. Even after being a super-tough soldier, he can’t free himself. He can’t lift the huge tree off of his leg and he’s bleeding heavily. Out of nowhere comes a nurse, who has run to help him. She has limited medical supplies, and goes to work immediately to stop his bleeding.
When she sees that the tree is possibly cutting into his leg, she worries that if the tree is moved he could bleed out quickly. Then, the worst thing happens. A bear is headed their way, and she goes into overdrive. A failed attempt at leading the bear away means that she must somehow get Clayton to the top of the hill, so that a helicopter can land to rescue them.

Trying to reach her parents during a horrible storm, mudslides are beginning closeby. The weather is causing road closures, but she will not stop her mission. He joins her, wanting to protect her.
This is how the book continues. This is a near impossible mission, but like her escape from the bear, she isn’t phased. As he feels the urge to protect Shelly, he is also starting to fall for her. But, the story becomes more dangerous with cartel members coming after her. The drama continues to unfold, and you’ll never want to put it down.
This is an exciting and romantic story, but that’s not all. The dependence on God is proving necessary and both of them must let go of their own tendencies to handle everything themselves. It’s an excellent adventure and human-growth book. I have a feeling that you’ll love it as much as I have.
